This movie has some extremely good scenes, but most of the time it was simply boring. These are the scenes which i thought were the most entertaining for your viewing pleasure. Also i included the tense moments before the battle part, which adds a much better buildup. So this video is better than all the other videos of this movie out on youtube.

いま、ザ・パシフィックのようなものを日米逆転で1942年1月のフィリピンに設定して日本軍大活躍とか作ったら国際問題でしょう。 これは日本が敗戦国であり、アメリカなどの戦勝国の兵士を惨殺するような映像は、日本が戦争犯罪を反省してないと思われるからです。 だから、日本が発信する戦争映画やドラマは日本軍大活躍は一切作られない。作られてもアメリカ人が無様に殺されるような撮影はさせてもらえない。 日本が戦後以降で撮影する戦争ものは反省ものと悲しさものしか作られない。 そして日本人の心の傷をえぐるような殺戮映画がアメリカ人によってどんどん作られていく。

この程度の再現ドラマで心が抉られる(笑)とか言うわりに史実の記録にはホルホルし始めるの本当に笑えるんだけど 貴方の望み通り近年は反省色なんて薄れてるのでは？最もそのような作品はこのザ・パシフィックのテーマと正反対に位置するものですがｗ
ザ・パシフィックは戦闘も悲惨だったけれど何より人間が人間で無くなって行く姿が切なかった…

They did alright. During the Boshin war. Samurai from both Shogunate and Imperial forces used Gatling guns.

最初の夜戦は一木支隊のイル河渡河戦ですね。 二度目の夜戦は川口支隊の第二次総攻撃だと思います。

単なる事実として 日本軍と米軍のキルレシオはだいたい10～20対1くらい。 米兵一人を倒すために日本兵は10人倒れるのが普通 ペリリューや硫黄島のような日本側が優秀なら10。サイパンやフィリピンは20以上。 テニアンなど日本側が無能ならもっと酷くなる。 このドラマはその辺をよく再現していて当時感心した記憶があります 日本軍は残念ながらドイツ軍のようには戦えませんでした しかしそれぞれの兵士たちの勇気は本物だったと思います。

戦争で殺すか殺されるかの環境でお互い恨み辛みを抱いてる時誰が悪いとはいいたくないけど……… 攻略して進軍してるアメリカ兵が捕らえられて身ぐるみはがされ座らされてる日本兵に唾吐きかけたり、抵抗できない状態の兵をゲーム感覚で撃ち殺してるシーンは(優位である立場にあるものが簡単に劣位の立場のものの命を弄んでいるようで)どうしてと胸糞悪いと思ってしまうし、戦争は人を狂わせるでしまうだと感じる。 戦争は何も生まない。
